If you join us in this collaboration you will become part of a growing network of organizations working on climate change adaptation. The following organizations are already part of the network and would welcome the chance to work with more partners!


  • AWhere Inc.: A spatial information and visualisation company that provides user-friendly software to use in exercises such as vulnerability mapping, www.awhere.com


  • ENDA Tiers-Monde: International organisation with diplomatic status based in Dakar, Senegal, with a network of decentralized nodes worldwide, www.enda.sn


  • FAO: The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) is world renowned for their work on agricultural development, www.fao.org


  • START: The global change System for Analysis, Research and Training (START) enables research on global environmental change through a network of collaborating centers and partners in Africa, Asia and Oceania.


  • SEI: The Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) is an independent, international research institute, with offices in seven countries, specializing in sustainable development and environment issues, www.sei.se



  • ALM: We are exploring initial links and collaboration with the Adaptation Learning Mechanism from UNDP, in particular in linking their country database to case studies in weADAPT.


  • UNITAR: The UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) supports training in international affairs management and capacity building in economic and social development, including climate change, www.unitar.org



  • Barotseland: A local NGO that provides access to knowledge and information about Western Zambia and is actively involved in sustainable development projects, part of the Zambezi Development Initiative (ZVDI) project, www.barotseland.com; www.zvdi.org


  • ADB: The Asian Development Bank (ADB), an international development finance institution with members in the Asia and Pacific region, implements climate change adaptation initiatives in its developing member countries, www.adb.org/Climate-Change;



We have had discussions with several other organisations and networks and hope to expand the partnership in the coming year. Notably, we have worked with IIED and BCAS (in particular through the CLACC network), OSS (through the ACCCA project), The Netherlands Climate Assistance Programme (NCAP), WWF (water and adaptation), CIFOR (livelihoods and resource management) and many others. We are also keen to develop strong links with community based NGOs, such as Barotseland.com in western Zambia.
